Protests erupt outside Kasba Police station as 3 arrested in alleged Kolkata college gang rape
West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee's security has been bolstered during her North Bengal tour for her nephew Abesh's wedding, scheduled for today. The precautionary measure comes in response to an escalation in the activities of the banned organization 'Kamatapur Liberation Organization' (KLO).
The police have intensified security arrangements for Mamata Banerjee following the circulation of a video on social media allegedly containing threats from KLO. Intelligence agencies, maintaining constant vigilance during Banerjee's six-day visit to North Bengal, have received alerts from the Intelligence Bureau (IB) regarding the increased activities of KLO in the region, particularly in northwest Bengal and neighboring Assam.
A senior official confirmed the tightening of security measures, citing specific information and the need for additional precautions in response to the perceived threat.
